COVID CONNECTIONS
MAR-APR 2020, Acrylic and Ink on Paper
When the world shut down last March and I had to cut my semester abroad in Ireland short, I felt heartbroken and disconnected. Those two weeks of post flight quarantine were brutal and lonely, and I found myself reaching out to others by text to find comfort. It was a unique (and almost oxymoronic) era where everybody wasn't alone in the fact that they were alone.
So I was inspired to make a daily practice that involved conversations that would combat isolation, and show the different ways people have handled this challenge.
Blake was an essential worker at Kroger.
Hannah got a new haircut.
Annie filled the time with homework.
Drew hopped on the TikTok trends.
Katya found some self(ie) love.
Amanda was one of the heroic nurses.
Charlie had quality time with his dog.
Katie took time to just be present.
